ABOUT ARI

Ari Morris is a 111x Gold & Platinum–certified, Grammy-nominated mixer, engineer, and producer. Originally from New Jersey, Morris relocated to Memphis in 2008 and graduated from the University of Memphis in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Recording Technology. During that time, he began interning at Young Avenue Sound, where he was mentored by industry heavyweights Skip McQuinn and Nil Jones. He quickly became the studio’s go-to engineer, working with rising local artists including Young Dolph, Moneybagg Yo, and Key Glock—momentum that led to a residency at the legendary Ardent Studios, where he engineered and mixed projects for some of the most notable names in the music industry. 

Morris’s success in Memphis opened doors nationwide, leading him to travel from studio to studio engineering, mixing, and producing many of the biggest records of the past decade. He spent years working closely with rapper and label owner Young Dolph, engineering and mixing over 20 releases for Paper Route Empire.

Morris is responsible for multiple Billboard and radio #1s, including Moneybagg Yo’s chart topping albums A Gangsta’s Pain and Time Served, featuring the singles “Wockesha,” “Said Sum,” and “Time Today,” Young Dolph and Key Glock’s “Major,” and “Tomorrow 2” by GloRilla featuring Cardi B. His credits also include mixing Royce da 5’9”’s The Allegory (2020 Rap Album of the Year nominee) and serving as vocal mixer on Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe) (2022 Album of the Year nominee).

In 2020, Morris founded Edge Recording, his private studio facility in Memphis and home to the city’s first Dolby Atmos–equipped mixing and post-production studio. There, he created immersive mixes for Lil Durk’s 7220 and Rod Wave’s A Beautiful Mind and Nostalgia, all of which debuted at #1 on Billboard. When not on the road, Morris can be found working at Edge Recording alongside his four-year-old rescue, Mendy.
